Excused Absence and Assistance to Federal Employees Affected by the Attacks

Jobs Details: "The Office of Personnel Management has set policies for those government workers affected by the September 11th attacks on the Pentagon. Depending on the situation, some workers can be excused from duty without charge to leave or loss of pay. Call 202-606-2858 or email payleave@opm.gov. Workers compensation benefits are available in the case where Federal employees who were injured or killed in the attacks, with expedited benefits. For information call 202-606-0788. The President has directed OPM to establish an emergency leave transfer program to assist employees affected by the disaster. Employees in an executive agency will be permitted to donate unused annual leave for transfer to employees who need additional time off from work without having to use their own paid leave.
