Incentives to Improve Your Home’s Energy Efficiency

Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (SMMPA) is a joint-action agency which generates and sells reliable electricity at wholesale to its eighteen non-profit, municipally-owned member utilities and develops innovative products and services to help them deliver value to their customers. With help from SMMPA, Blooming Prairie Public Utilities provides incentives for its residential customers to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. Eligible efficiency technologies are: clothes washers/dryers, dishwasher, refrigerators/freezers, dehumidifiers, lighting, heat pumps, air conditioners, and ceiling fans with lighting. Incentive amounts range from $2 for fluorescent light bulbs to $200 for air conditioners (plus $75/SEER for every 1 SEER above 14).
