Energy Efficient Incentives on Offer

New Ulm Public Utilities (NUPU) offers incentives for its residential customers to install energy-efficient equipment in their homes and facilities. Equipment eligible for rebates include programmable thermostats, Energy Star appliances, boilers, furnaces, central A/C units, room A/C units, lighting, and furnace cleanings. The maximum incentive is $200-350 for central A/C units. In addition to equipment rebates, NUPU offers an opportunity for their customers to increase their energy efficiency through their ReLeaf Tree Reimbursement Program. NUPU will reimburse their customers 2/3 of the cost of eligible trees up to a maximum of $75 per tree, provided the trees are planted in an area that will provide adequate shade to the building.
