With help from Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency, Saint Peter Municipal Utilities provides incentives for its residential customers to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. Rebates are available for qualified dishwashers, clothes washers, central and room air conditioners, ceiling fans, light fixtures, air and ground source heat pumps, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, and freezers. Incentives range from $15 to $200 for central air conditioners (plus $75 for every 1 SEER over 14). Appliances must be Energy Star to qualify for the rebate, and bonus incentives are available in some cases if the old working appliance is properly recycled.
