The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry has published a variety of articles on their Website, free for duplication for personal and educational purposes, to help parents and children deal with the events of September 11 and other grief-producing incidents. There are articles in both English and Spanish. Topics include how to handle children’s grief, how to answer children’s questions about disaster, the news media, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and restoring hope. There is also a resources link on the homepage of the Website that can provide information on numerous national organizations and agencies serving the physical and mental health needs of children.
